Cevapi (pronounced Che-Vah-Pee or Kebapi in Macedonia) are small finger-sized Serbian/Balkan sausages that are made with fresh veal and pork, with no outer casing. Cevap is one word for kebab. It becomes cevapi in plural form because it is so good – you are destined to eat more than one!
They are excellent on the grill or you can also bake or fry them. Serve on warm lapinja/flat bread or pita with Ajvar a popular hot red pepper spread. You can also add freshly chopped onions, sliced tomato, and/or cucumber with a dollop of sour cream.
